Study of Compressive Sensing on through Wall Imaging

چکیده
The theory of Compressive Sensing (CS) enables the reconstruction of sparse signals as well as image from small set of random measurements by solving primal dual interior point method for l1 minimization problem. This paper presents reconstruction of signal based on CS theory applied on experimental data. Reconstruction of Ascan and B-scan image with fewer samples is obtained without affecting quality. Reconstruction of range profile with A-scan data with random samples by inverse discrete frequency transform (IDFT) is achieved and then compares it with CS reconstructed range profile by computing peak signal to noise ratio (PSNR). It is observed that PSNR obtained with CS has good quality while using IDFT, it is degraded. Similar results are obtained for B-scan image.

Through-the-Wall Radar imaging (TWRI) is emerging as a viable technology for providing high quality imagery of enclosed structures. TWRI makes use of electromagnetic waves to penetrate through building wall materials. Due to the " see " through ability, TWRI has attracted much attention in the last decade and has found a variety of important civilian and military applications. Signal processing...
متن کاملCompressive Sensing Meets Noise Radar
In this chapter, we discuss how noise radar systems are suitable for realizing practically the promises of compressive sensing in radar imaging, in general, and in urban-sensing applications, in particular. Noise radar refers to radio frequency imaging systems that employ transmit signals that are generated to resemble random noise waveforms. Noise radar has recently been successfully applied t...
متن کاملInteraction Multipath in Through-the-Wall Radar Imaging Based on Compressive Sensing
Clutters caused by multipath have been widely researched in through-the-wall radar imaging (TWRI). The existing research work of multipath only consider reflections from the wall, while in the condition of a small scene, with the increasing number of targets, multipath from targets to targets, named interaction multipath, usually generates ghosts, which degrades the performance of TWRI. In orde...

Exterior wall returns affect the accuracy and fidelity of the imaged scene in urban sensing and through-the-wall radar imaging applications. For reliable imaging of stationary indoor scenes, the front wall reflections need to be properly attenuated. In this chapter, wall mitigations are addressed in the context of compressive sensing for stepped-frequency radar operation. Wall mitigation scheme...
متن کاملThrough-the-Wall Moving Target Detection and Localization using Sparse Regularization
In this paper, we consider moving target detection and localization inside enclosed structures for through-the-wall radar imaging and urban sensing applications. We exploit the fact that the through-the-wall scene is sparse in the Doppler domain, on account of the presence of a few moving targets in an otherwise stationary background. The sparsity property is used to achieve efficient joint ran...
